From Yemen to Egypt, ordinary Arabs struggled on Monday to understand how Muslims could perpetrate such an act against fellow Muslims even if some sympathized with bin Laden's war on the United States and its regional allies.

Talk about the chickens coming home to roost. Excuse me while I suppress a wry smile, all those people jumping up and down in celebration while the Twin Towers were burning are now shocked over this latest development. Think the Saudis are going to be holding anymore of those telethons like they did shortly after September 11th? Get with the program people, hello! Terrorists, root word being terror and implying indiscriminate violence. I’m not turning a blind eye to the f**k ups of our own society but the people of this country are not your enemy.

On another Middle East note, I was reading this article on Iraqi reaction to dropping 500 pound bombs the past few days:

When reading the article, a funny thought occurred to me that had to do with the recent spate of articles on Americans and obesity:

In conjunction with the article about the F-16s dropping 500 lb bombs, I had an image of planes dropping morbidly obese Americans on Iraqis. That’ll learn ’em.
